Thunderbolt & Lightening (very, very frightening!)

We arrived in Guangzhou last night and were met at the train station by Jackie, a member of "the China team". Jackie assured us that it would not rain in Guangzhou and we woke up this morning to torrential downpours. Jackie also assured us that our room at the Garden Hotel had a king size bed and it was really two full size beds. Jackie is very sweet, but we now know that with everything she says, the opposite is true. John is not happy about having to wear his rain poncho - it was only packed as a last resort. He feels he has compromised his sense of fashion just to get some Starbucks coffee across the street. Ah, the poor, American... dignity is the first thing to go in a third-world country...
